Last month, the federal government even formed a task force to resolve delayed passport processing nationwide and delays in airport check-in. no progress<\/p>\n
The union representing civil servants in charge of passport affairs said on the 28th that “there was no communication with the government organization formed to investigate delays in passport affairs.”<\/p>\n
“I don’t even know if a task force of 10 ministers has ever met,” said Kevin King, head of the civil service union.<\/p>\n
The same is true of airport paralysis. The National Airlines Council of Canada said it had contacted a task force to resolve the matter but received no response.<\/p>\n
Federal Minister for Women and Gender Equality, Marie Ayen, in charge of the task force, shouted in June that “there will be tangible results in the next few weeks”, but there has been no communication with the relevant authorities for over a month.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the federal government has opened additional passport offices in Brampton (40 Gillingham Drive) and Whitby (1615 Dundas Street East) to distribute the Toronto workload. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.<\/p>\n
The number of passport applications is declining.<\/p>\n
Some in the political circles accuse the parliamentary leave\/destruction of the opposition party as causing the inaction and incompetence of the ruling party.
